I wish I had the time to craft edible works of art that would leave my family and guests in awe of the dish placed before them. The world I live in though has 3 children running around me and one little crawler who tugs at my pants while I attempt to cook. So I have become the Queen of easy cooking.
Store bought sweets don’t even compare to homemade so I try really hard to have a few go- to recipes that my family really enjoys and this snickerdoodle recipe is one of them.
This recipe was part of one that I found on allrecipes, but when I first tried it the cookies turned out harder than rocks and ended up in the trash.
I have tweaked it and now it really is perfection in a cookie.
Soft Snickerdoodle Cookies
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
Blend wet ingredients until mixed.
In a separate bowl mix together dry ingredients.
2 and 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Blend dry ingredients into the wet and thoroughly mix.
This is the step my kids love to help with:
In a third and somewhat shallow bowl mix 3 tablespoons sugar and 3 teaspoons cinnamon.
Form 1 inch globs of dough into balls and drop into the cinnamon sugar mix and roll until covered.
Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes at 350.
Warning: These cookies are highly addictive and just one is really not enough!
Stay Happy! Stay Informed!
Love,
Jen
