Delicious Summer Ready Caprese Salad

In Cooking & Crafting by Jen

I remember the first time I heard about Caprese salads. I thought it sounded fancy and way beyond my cooking skill level. That was until I ate one for the first time and realized how amazing they are AND get this, super easy to make! They are made with the freshest of the fresh ingredients and are basically the epitome of a perfect summer-time dish!

Have you every made one before? If you haven’t yet it’s time, and I am happy to be able to share my deliciously easy Caprese salad recipe with all of you!

Here’s How To Make It:

Ingredients:

2 tomatoes any kind or variety. I prefer round, but pick your favorite and go with it!

1 small package of fresh mozzarella cheese. This can easily be purchased at any grocery store.

6 to 7 basil leaves

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 tablespoons of your favorite balsamic oil

salt and pepper to taste

Here’s a Caprese salad pro tip for you: About 3 months ago I picked up a little container of basil at my local garden store and planted it in an inexpensive pot. We use this basil for everything!

Directions:

Cut your tomatoes and about half of your mozzarella in round slices and then cut the rounds in half. Arrange the slices on your plate in the shape of a fan. Alternating between the cheese and the tomatoes.

Now drizzle both oils on top of the cheese and mozzarella. Cut the basil leaves and garnish leaves on top of the cheese and tomatoes. To complete your salad sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
