In Southern Arizona during the summer months, we have the monsoons. This is meant to be a wet, rainy season that cools our desert down. The last few years the monsoons have been less than exciting, as we have received next to no rain, but this year, it has rained buckets. This has been really good to curb destructive fires and help out our farmers, but it has also brought the bugs en masse! Which is not so good. If you step outside for even just a few minutes you will be mosquito and bug chow, ouch!
This week, my unicorn-loving 8-year-old daughter saw some rainbow-colored marshmallows at the store and said we needed to make s’mores on our newly “sparkle-fied” and updated fire-pit, but, well…. I thought we would get eaten alive, even with all of the insect repelling devices in the world!
So I came up with a plan for making these bad boys in the oven, check them out!
To make them you need only 3 ingredients too!
To make these you will need:
Rainbow-colored marshmallows like this. I found these at my local grocery store, but you could nab them Here as well.
Then you just need graham crackers and white chocolate. We opted to use white chocolate since my daughter thought the brown would look like “poop” when it mixed with the marshmallow.
Here’s how to make them!
Pop a marshmallow on top of half a graham cracker and then place it in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 2 minutes.
Remove it from the oven and place about 3 squares of white chocolate on top of the marshmallow and squish it all together with another half of a graham cracker! The best part is that as you let it kind of sit (if you can do that before cramming it in your face) the chocolate will get warm and gooey from the hot marshmallow. Yum!
Here is a printable copy as well!
