There are a lot of elderly people in my family’s life. I feel it is important during the holidays and beyond to show these loved ones that I care about them. As a parent I also want to teach my children that showing kindness and giving to others is something that will reap benefits their entire life. Especially to those that are elderly.

Every year I try to come up with a treat that my family can share with these special people in our lives. Sometimes this is not so easy, because one thing I have noticed with my elderly neighbors and relatives is that smaller portions seem to be much more appreciated, as the larger quantities of treats generally are a little too much for them to consume alone.

Today I would like to share with you a great holiday gift and recipe idea for something I will be using to help my family share the joy of the season with others and “pie it forward”.

This is a fabulous way to spread lots of cheer during the holidays! The idea for this recipe came to me while I was shopping at Walmart. I decided that I could create wonderful little mini-pies from delicious Marie Callender’s® Dessert Pies topped with Reddi-Wip®.

Marie Callender’s has so many amazing pie choices, but I let the kids pick the flavor they wanted and they zeroed in on Razzleberry. Not that there was really a bad choice to be had here, but I think that our little random act of “pie-ness” will be very well received! Because I am pretty sure that there is nothing better in the world than a slice of delicious pie!

Now Let’s Pie-It Forward!

To make you own little mini pie-it forward packages, all you need to do is cook the Marie Callender’s pie you select according to the directions on the box.

Look at all of that bubbly, berry goodness with this pie!

Once the pie has cooled, carefully cut and scoop smaller portions of the pie into some ready to be delivered containers. I picked my packages up at my local craft store, but you can pretty much use any container you would like.

To finish your pie-it-forward masterpiece, top your mini pies with delicious Reddi-Wip! Make sure to let some of that berry goodness show so that your giftee can see that they are in for a real treat! YUUUMMMM!

Should one of you wish to perform a random act of “pie-ness” for me that would be pretty sweet….

Now Pick A Printable!

Take a look at these adorable printables I created that you can use for your own random acts of “pie-ness”! I have three different color choices, so go ahead and grab the one that will work best for you!

Here is a traditional Fall gift tag!

Or this cute little pinkie-pie one!

Last, but not least here is one for all things merry and bright!

I hope you get the chance this holiday season to perform your own random acts of “pie-ness”!
