Fresh Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls

In Cooking & Crafting by Jen

I have an award-winning orange cinnamon roll recipe that is highly requested year-round. I love sharing this dish with people. This past weekend I started thinking that if orange is such a fantastic pairing with cinnamon rolls, what other fruit could you pair with cinnamon rolls that would be equally as awesome?

Strawberries are on sale right now and so I thought let’s give that a try!

Guys, it was so delicious!

I made a big batch thinking I could share some of this dish with people if it turned out okay, but my girls said this first batch needed to stay right within the walls of our home- 24 hours later, there is one left in the fridge! They are fighting over who gets it…

I am excited to share this recipe with you today. It is easy to make and with my signature recipe style, utilizes a breadmaker to cut down on time!

5 1/2 cups flour

Here’s how to make it:

Icing Directions: (Make while the dough is in the breadmaker)

Place 8 oz room temperature softened cream cheese, 1 to 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 2 tablespoons milk into a bowl and whip using a hand mixer until well blended. You can always adjust the amounts if you would like your icing to be less thick or thicker.

The dough and filling:

Cut your strawberries into cubes and put them aside.

Use your breadmaker and select the option for dough.

Place all of the ingredients directly into the breadmaker canister.

Once your dough is done, my breadmaker setting takes about 30 minutes, let the bread rise for about another 30 minutes.

Remove the dough from the breadmaker canister.

Separate the dough into 2 batches.

On a well-floured surface, roll the dough out to about 1-inch thickness and into a rectangular shape.

Sprinkle the sugar mixture onto the center of the rolled-out dough and then distribute it to the edges.

Evenly sprinkle chopped strawberries on top of the sugar mixture.

Roll the dough up into a long tube.

Cut circular, 2-inch thick sections of the dough and place into a greased baking dish.

Let the dough rise for about 30 minutes.

Cook at 350 for 20 minutes or until the top is a soft golden brown.

Remove from oven and let cool for about 5 minutes and then apply the icing frosting.
