A few weeks ago my husband who is a certifiable Dr. Pepper addict took the children to try the new Dr. Pepper shakes at Whataburger. When I heard about it, I thought it sounded a little weird, but my kids came back raving about them, and since then, they have repeatedly asked when can we go back and get another one? Not, that I am not all about supporting businesses, but these days in Arizona one tends to kind of hibernate at home with as few outside trips as possible, so I thought I would try my hand at making them in hopes to curtail their begging to go back.
I asked the children to be my taste testers, and together we became master Dr. Pepper shake mixologists. Take a look!
To make it, you need seriously 2 ingredients. That is all. Ready for it……
You need Dr. Pepper and vanilla ice cream, but, and this is a BIG but, the mixture has to be correct or it just won’t come out tasting right.
You need about 2 cups of vanilla ice cream to about 1 cup of Dr. Pepper. You can make larger amounts, but just keep this ratio in mind. What you don’t want is to go skimpy on the Dr. Pepper, so you really can’t hurt erring on the side of mixing in a little more Dr. Pepper. Especially with all of the bubbles that Dr. Pepper has.
So, who’s in now?! My 7-year-old was hesitant at first, but is now a full Dr Pepper shake believer, and so don’t cut it until you try it I say :)
If you liked this shake recipe, you might want to try out this one too.
Thanks for popping in and I hope you have a great day!
Love,
