I am so excited to share a recipe with all of you today! This one takes its inspiration from a recent perusal down the baking aisle of my local craft store and the discovery that you could buy banana cream flavor in a bottle! Are you kidding me? How did I not know this was a THING, it is one of my favorites, so I had to buy it and try it!
Here is the flavoring I found:
Making these are super simple!
Here are the ingredients you will need:
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 butter softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
Yellow-colored chocolate meltable tabs
White sprinkles (if desired)
Here’s how to make them:
Mix all of the ingredients together, saving the flavoring for the last. The chocolate meltable tabs will come at the end too.
Spray your donut pan with non-stick cooking spray and add the batter.
Cook in a preheated oven for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Let cool and frost with melted chocolate and finish with sprinkles.
* If you have never worked with melted chocolate before, here are a few tips:
-Don’t heat and melt it until you are ready to use it.
-You can use a microwave but will need to watch it closely as it heats.
-I usually add the tabs to a microwave-safe bowl and heat them for about 30 seconds.
-Give the chocolate a good stir and then put it in for a max of another 30 seconds.
-I have never had to cook my chocolate for over a minute to melt.
