Two Christmases ago I gave my husband a cast iron skillet for Christmas, and guys, it has changed my family’s life! We use it all the time for cooking and love how easy it is to make delicious dishes. This week my husband crafted a delicious recipe that I want to share with all of you!
This dish gives us French vibes because of the delicious white sauce coating the entire dish. The sauce is seriously the boss!
Let me introduce you to Skillet French Chicken!
Ingredients:
1 tablespoons olive oil, salt and pepper (to taste)
Half a sweet onion
5 to 6 trimmed chicken thighs
1 bell pepper
2 stalks of celery
1 clove of garlic
Spritz of white wine
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup parsley
2 cups mushrooms
Directions:
In your skillet put 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and 5 to 6 trimmed chicken thighs that have been salted and peppered on both sides.
On a stovetop on slightly below medium heat, brown the chicken in the skillet on one side and flip.
Add in half of a sweet onion, 1 chopped bell pepper, 2 sliced stalks of celery, and 1 clove of garlic.
Add a spritz of white wine and cook for 2 more minutes on the stovetop. Add 1 cup of chicken broth.
Put the skillet in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and add 1/2 a cup of heavy whipping cream, 1/4 cup of chopped parsley, and 2 cups of chopped mushroom.
Return the skillet to the oven and cook for 10 more minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
