Yesterday my daughter Bekah and I decided to bake some donuts for Holiday deliveries! She and I looked at our stash of ingredients and decided some tropical-flavored Grinch donuts were precisely perfect. They turned out so yummy too. The main base of the donut was the pineapple flavor and then we topped them with lime chocolate frosting. Delicious!
Here is what you need to make them:
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon pineapple flavoring or add to taste
Topping:
pineapple liquid flavoring to taste- we added about 6 drops- you can get this at any major crafting store
lime flavored chocolate tabs (the meltable kind) – you can get this at any major crafting store
small red candy hearts
lava cake/bundt maker machines
Here’s how you make it:
Make sure your lava machine is plugged in and heating
Mix all of your wet and dry ingredients.
Use cooking spray on the donut/lava wells
Spoon the mixture into the wells. Don’t overfill
Cook for 3 minutes
Using a plastic spoon, carefully remove each of the donuts from the cooking wells
* I make all of the donuts first and then frost.
Once all of your batter has been used, heat the chocolate tabs according to the directions or in the microwave
Frost your donuts and apply your little red heart!
These are super easy to make, fun desserts, especially around this time of year!
Thanks for stopping in and happy holiday-ing!
Love,
Jen
