Living in Southern Arizona with 100 plus degrees of scorching heat has left me feeling all kinds of parched and dried out! Has this summer left you too feeling as dry and scaly as me?
One of the ways I counteract dryness is with homemade sugar scrubs. I love making them for myself because that way I know exactly what is in them and I can make scrubs that are more nourishing and hydrating rather than ones that scrape and scratch your skin.
Today I am going to share with all of you one of my all-time favorite sugar scrubs. It is made with Young Living Orange essential oil. Not only does it smell amazing, but it also has only 3 ingredients!
You can add food coloring if you would like to make it orange, but I kind of trend towards keeping all of the good stuff and not adding any of the extraneous items just to make it “prettier”. This sugar scrub smells amazing on its own and so you might not feel the need to have it be orange.
Here is what you need to make it:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
20 to 25 drops of Orange Young Living Essential Oil
I like to have my scrubs be more creamy and dreamy so that when I slap that stuff on it feels soft and soothing. You can, however, always adjust the amount of coconut oil in order to make the sugar scrub less creamy, and more coarse. Just don’t go too crazy on the sugar, because the idea is to soothe and hydrate your skin, not scratch it up!
If you would like to learn more about how essential oils can help you, feel free to message or reach out to me. I use essential oils for pretty much everything!

Thanks for popping in and happy summering!
