This weekend was General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. General Conference happens in April and October and it is one of my favorite weekends. Not only do we get to listen to inspiring messages that bring me closer to God, but I get to live in my pajamas and watch Conference on TV, never leaving my home. It is all so good! Some General Conference weekends my husband and I have concocted more extensive, elaborate meals for us to eat, but this time I suggested ultimate snacking, and snack we did!
Today I want to share this recipe with you we made this weekend. My family said its a keeper!
Let me introduce you to Cheesy Pizza Bites!
Yummy looking right?! They taste even better than they look!
Here is the best part you need only a handful of ingredients to make these. Check it out:
Ready-made pizza dough in a tube
String cheese sticks
1/4 cup of butter for melting and brushing onto your bites
1 to 2 tsp of fresh-cut parsley
Making these is so easy. Roll out the pizza dough and cut small sections of the dough and string cheese. Roll them up into a little ball, closing the edges as best as possible. Because really, it is a good thing if a little cheese escapes to give you some baked, crusty cheese goodness.
Then place the balls on a greased and lined cookie sheet and brush on some of the melted butter and sprinkle on some cut pieces of parsley.
Once your cookie sheet is full of cheesy balls, pop them into a 350-degree pre-heated oven and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes. Then serve them up with your favorite brand of pasta sauce for dipping awesomeness!
