It’s time for another episode of Semi-homemade with Jen. That’s the name of my cooking show btw…. well if I had one!
I do a lot of from-scratch recipes, but I am firmly in the camp of, “you do not have to do that for EVERY recipe.” If you can bring the fun and good into a recipe AND cut your cooking time in half, then more’s the win there!
On today’s episode, I am going to show you how to make these adorable Mini Rice Krispie Valentine Hearts! Ten minutes tops and I had a cool dozen ready for when my kids arrived home from school.
To make these you do not even need to start from scratch on the Rice Krispies, grab one of those ready-made bars! Here is everything you need:
Using your mini heart cookie cutter, firmly press down the shape on the bar and cut out the heart Krispies. Each bar should produce at least 6.
Now for the topping part. Have you ever melted chocolate? It’s pretty easy. I use the microwave. For this recipe, I used about a 1/4 cup of white chocolate melting tabs. I placed them in a microwave-safe bowl and set the microwave for a minute. Take the chocolate out quickly and give it a good stir. If the chocolate isn’t fully melted, place it in the microwave for another 30 seconds. Then give the chocolate a final good stir and apply to half of your cut-out heart Krispies.
Before the chocolate cools, quickly apply your sprinkles. Then voila, done!
Pretty brilliantly easy, right?! Maybe someday I will have that cooking show :)
Thanks for popping in!
Love,
Jen
