Healthy Orange Julius Copycat Recipe

In Cooking & Crafting by Jen7 Comments

My husband and I have really made a concerted effort over the last 6 months to be thoughtful and intentional with our food. This has included making sure we offer healthy and delicious meals and snacks to and for our family. Don’t get me wrong, donuts still happen. We are just trying to teach through example that our children have control over their food choices and that they can use food as fuel and not as a “filler”.

One of my children was requesting an Orange Julius type smoothie recently and when I went looking online there was an awful lot of sugar put into a traditional Orange Julius, and so I decided to work on creating my own recipe. Especially since in the Spring, we have a plethora of fresh oranges we can pick right off of our trees in the backyard!

Today I am excited to share my own Healthy Orange Julius Copycat Recipe!

  1. Omg, how I used to love Orange Julius’ back in the day when I would go to the mall and shop in my teen years. You totally brought me back and now I think I need to try your healthier recipe version. Thanks!! 😀

  2. I’m glad donuts still happen, but balance is everything. I adored Orange Julius as a kid. We used to have a mall kiosk and they had strawberry and raspberry julius too.
I love the idea of using almond milk. I am not even remotely dairy sensitive but I love almond milk for smoothies and recipes like this.

Almond milk for smoothies is the bomb! I have 2 kids that only drink almond milk, so we have come up with a whole bunch of uses for it. And yes, donuts even happened yesterday. It was that kind of day :)
