This summer has been the summer of local road tripping for our family, we have traveled pretty much every week at least a 2 to 3 hour drive away from our home. It has been fun and less stressful than some of our longer road trips, but with temperatures reaching a smoking hot 110 degrees plus here in our neck of the woods we have definitely had to prepare ahead to make sure our car is ready for this excess of summer drive time.
Since our car just reached the 100,000 mile marker, it needs a little more TLC. Our preparation starts with a trip to our local Walmart to get her oiled up and ready to go.
I pick Walmart to do this because it makes long haul driving prep a breeze. Not only can I make sure my car is summer road trip ready by their car care experts, but I can also pick up a few extra things like a new dress perfect for a little summer fun.
On this most recent visit to Walmart’s Automotive Care Center I was excited to discover that from now until September 28th, high mileage oil change is on Rollback to $35.88 and you all know how saving money makes me happy! Plus making sure that my car is getting the best products and service like Pennzoil® High Mileage Vehicle® motor oil gives me peace of mind when we are hitting the open road.
I choose Pennzoil because it helps to clean out the sludge lesser oils leave behind, while helping to reduce leaks and oil consumption in worn or higher mileage engines.
It’s a motor oil specifically designed for new or late model vehicles like mine with over 75,000 miles, with the mission of keeping engines running clean and going strong.
It is also the closest thing I will ever have to a pit crew!
Now we are ready to hit the road for some summer adventuring!
To help you be ready for your next summer road trip, check out this super cute printable I made!
So what summer road trip plans do you have?
Love,
Jen

Ahh! We’re about to leave for a big road trip and I need to scramble to print out the printable. I can do it.
We’re totally twins because we did this last week. Although Scarlet didn’t find such a cute dress, but she did find a great backpack while we waited for the van.

Thank you! You guys did just get back from a pretty epic trip. I loved seeing your pictures. I say rest up a bit for now and then you will be away and off soon enough on another adventure!

Excellent advice. You have to take care of your ride so it will perform at it’s best. We do the same things before a road trip.
We aren’t going anywhere except to our boat. That’s enough for us this summer.
Have a fabulous day. ☺

Thanks! Hope they had fun. I am kind of looking forward to someday taking a roadtrip with just the hubs and I, but that is a long ways off in the future.

My car and I were very happy to find out about that rollback. Heading out tomorrow on another roadtrip and we are ready to roll because of that.
Have fun adventuring this summer!

We just had three road trips within the span of two weeks, and I’m ready to be done for the summer! Definitely agree with loading up on the wipes. No matter how old your kids are, wipes are a mom’s best friend during a road trip. Well, that and plenty of plastic shopping bags to hold the mountains of trash that accumulate in the car!

Oh my. You are a strong one indeed. I second your desire to be done with the roadtripping for a bit and amen for wipes. I cannot foresee a day anytime in the future where they will not be an important part of my life.
