A Newborn Journey of Firsts with Pampers

In Parenting, Reviewsby Jen22 Comments

Let’s start at the beginning of the story, well at least the beginning of the story for me.

I remember being a young 20 something who had just delivered her first baby. I loved this teeny tiny little person whom I had just met.

At the hospital I was given the blanket-like Pampers Swaddlers to wrap my precious baby in. I didn’t know much of anything, but I assumed the hospital by placing these diapers in my little wheeled baby cubicle knew that this was the diaper I should choose and continue to choose. I guess this is why Pampers Swaddlers is the #1 choice of hospitals in North America.

I will never forget my very first time with my very first baby. She and I were the first to embark on this wonderful “Journey of Firsts”. I remember being mostly excited and A LOT terrified as I waited in my wheelchair outside of the hospital for my husband to pull the car around so that together all of us could go home and start our life as a new family.

And then came the next three babies:

Even though I have become a little more seasoned at the arrival of each new baby, they are each uniquely different and we have also had to embark on a “Journey of Firsts” together. The first time they were diapered, the first bath, the first time they met their siblings and so on…..

Recently I was contacted by Pampers to host a party in my home for 10 of my Mom friend besties!

Together we sat and watched the Pampers Firsts video “A Newborn Journey Of Firsts”. From the first time parents see their little one on a sonogram to the first evening home from the hospital, the Pampers “Firsts” video showcases precious, heart-felt moments babies and parents share together. Pampers recognizes that all first moments, no matter how big or small, are moments to be cherished and celebrated. Pampers is honored to be a part of the journey of firsts for millions of families around the world every day.

In honor of this special journey, Pampers has released a compilation video entitled “Firsts” that highlights those wondrous “first” experiences together.

I have to admit that after we all watched the video  there were quite a few sniffles and happy tears as all of my Mom friends and I remembered our own Journey of Firsts.

One of my friends said, “The video hit the realism of becoming a new parent on the spot. It made me feel understood as to my feelings, both joy and fear, of becoming a new mom and the challenges it brings.”

Beginning February 16th, create and share your own journey of Firsts at pampersfirsts.com.

Pampers has developed a micro-site that will allow you to upload images of your baby from your computer or pick from your Facebook gallery and create a :15 second video to share out with friends on Twitter or Facebook. The video will highlight the baby photos and all their first milestone moments.

Now back to the party!

Since we were Moms just chilling free of the majority of our kiddos there was also some silliness that went on.

Oh, one kid (mine) besides the adorable baby above, did show up at the end of the party and because I think she’s pretty cute I included her picture.

All of my Mom friends were excited to learn that the same Pampers comfort we swaddled our newborns in is now available through size 6! This is because Pampers listened to Moms like us who said they wanted the Pampers Swaddlers softness they know and love to be available throughout their diapering years.

Here are some other reasons why Pampers continues to be the #1 choice of hospitals in North America* and the first diaper worn by millions of babies:

  • Pampers Swaddlers wraps baby with superior comfort, protection and blanket-like softness, helping to take care of babies during all the precious first moments they share with their parents.
  • Pampers Swaddlers is Pampers softest diaper and offers up to 12 hours of overnight protection.
  • Color changing wetness indicator that signals when baby may need to be changed.
  • Absorb Away Liner® to pull wetness and mess away from babies’ skin.

I have to admit I kind of felt like Oprah as I  gifted all of my party guests their own Pampers Swaddlers gift bags!

Luckily, the gift bags had survived until the end of the party with the help I had putting them together….

A big “Thank You!” to Pampers for the party, and for being such a big part of my children’s lives! Also a BIG thank you to all of my friends who came to the party and then submitted their own Pampers reviews!

  2. Hi Jen, your little one has such a cheeky grin…So cute!

I bet you Mum’s had a lovely time. I don’t think we ever get over the specialness of ‘first times’, even if they are another Mum and babys firsts.

It was a while before I discovered that Pampers were by far the best nappy available and were worth the extra pennies. I started with Terry’s cloth nappies (what was I thinking?!!). I tried a couple of other brands before getting to Pampers and if I remember correctly what made me try them was the fact they were the first resealable nappies with an almost Velcro like resealable tape.

If anyone were to ask me to recommend a nappy it would have to be Pampers.

I know! I get a little wet eyed every time I watch the video I included above. My husband just laughed and shook his head at me (men)…..

I am so grateful that I did not have to use terry cloth diapers. I am a klutz and I think I would have jabbed myself or worse the baby with those safety pin things!!

  3. The hospital I delivered in used Pampers Swaddlers. I always used the sensitive version with my kids and they hardly ever had diaper rash. Some of the other newborn diaper brands seem so stiff. Looks like a fun party.

  4. haha! Oprah! “You get a diaper gift bag. And YOU get a diaper gift bag. And you!”
Very fun. My parents have a pack of Pampers waiting for me when I get to their house this week. They also keep asking me when I’ll be potty-training young Des, but I’m in no hurry.
