In Mommy Reality by Jen25 Comments

It’s Friday, Friday, Gotta Get Down On Friday!

Um, sorry you will be singing that all day now, won’t you?

Anyway, welcome to Mommy Reality Challenge #23!

If this is your first time hearing about the Mommy Reality Challenge we are so glad you are joining this great community of moms who participate in our bi-weekly challenges that showcase all the fun, crazy, and sometimes overwhelming moments that are in every mom’s life!

Please don’t just read. This is an INTERACTIVE post! Come join in all the fun!

The Rules are Simple!

  1. We will announce the theme
  2. You will take a pic, post it to the social media account of your choice with the hashtag #mommyreality or write a post and then link it up to this blog post!
  3. Then in two weeks, we will announce our favorites and award a meme to the winner!

Now let’s all travel back to last week’s Mommy Reality Challenge…..

Celeste had us share what we Moms really eat for breakfast. Since this challenge started on Halloween there seemed to be a unifying theme to our breakfasts.

I think it is safe to say that as Moms we did a pretty thorough job this year of inspecting and checking our children’s candy stashes.

AND NOW… DRUM ROLL!

The winner of Mommy Reality Challenge #23: What Mom Eats For Breakfast:

Lauren of Motherhood and Beyond for her submission via Instagram of the crumbled remains from her son’s lunch she made that morning which then served as her breakfast. It is important to note that the Mommy Reality team has now met an all new high of efficiency when our participants start making their own memes! Winning!

Thanks Lauren and we hope you will join us in two weeks for our next Mommy Reality Challenge!

Now, since all of the hard work for this last meme was done by Lauren I don’t want you all thinking we are becoming slackers here, so we have invented a completely NEW holiday meal.  Check it out and tell us you aren’t on board!

Thank you Echo of Domain of The Mad Mommy for submitting this picture that so moved and inspired us to create this holiday that will now be celebrated the world over.

Don’t forget to take a walk down memory lane to see all of the other #mommyreality memes on our tumblr page.

Before we move onto our new Mommy Reality Challenge we want to give special thanks to Marie of Normal Everyday Life for co-hosting this last challenge with us!

It’s time for the next Mommy Reality Challenge!

As a reminder Amber won our Scare Us Mommy Reality Challenge.

Our NEW Mommy Reality Challenge Theme:

Mom’s Pet Peeve!

Does this quote describe you, well we want to know YOUR pet peeves? You know it will feel good to share them.

This week as Jen was preparing breakfast for her children she encountered one of her personal pet peeves.

The official handbook says that you need a set of needle nose pliers and a blowtorch to bypass this “safety device” because Heaven forbid that the children and their parents should be able to bust through the seal of doom to access a glass of healthy, nutritious milk.  However, to be fair, we all remember that rash of milk poisonings that terrified the dairy drinking nation!  Actually, no, I don’t recall anything like that EVER happening.  So, FAIL!

Now it’s your turn to share your pet peeve! Is it that empty roll of toilet paper that always greets you or is it trails of dirty clothes strewn throughout the house or even your children constantly forgetting that their big school project is due until the evening before……

You have 2 weeks to complete this challenge!

Don’t forget to grab our super-nifty button!

Oh my goodness I can’t wait to see yours! I bet we have many in common :)

Well, maybe not the pet peeve where I don’t like touching wooden spoons… My husband says that particular pet peeve is more like a mutant phobia!

  1. That crust photo is truly a winner. And I usually give Des the scraps after cutting Scarlet her perfect heart sandwiches.
Pet peeves.. oh where do I start?

  2. Love the mommy breakfast winner! How true that is for so many of us. I keep saying I’m going to jump in this fun link up someday. I’ll work on one of my pet peeves today to post to twitter. I have so many :). I laughed greatly over your blowtorch comment. I’m with you on that one, my friend!

  3. I never get to these in time! Oh well, I don’t think I could narrow my pet peeves down to one picture. Would it be the dirty socks NEXT to the hamper? Or the full glass of milk sitting on the table and a child begged and pleaded about how thirsty he was? Tough to choose!

  4. Come on, I totally remember all that dangerous milk that wasn’t properly over-sealed! It’s almost ridculous sometimes, isn’t it? Our milk comes in cardboard containers with a plastic seal and pull tab and half the time, the pull tab comes off without removing the seal and I’m left opening a gallon of milk like you open a school milk container.
Love this theme for the mommy reality challenge, by the way!
    Cheers,

  5. Hi Jen, I love Laurens post, her breakfast did look so sad compared to her sons lunch!…I actually have quite a few pet peeves, but I try to ignore them…That doesn’t really work too well, but it stops me from over stressing.

I hate those pull of seals too….And why, oh why, do I only ever encounter them when I am in a rush. They should never be tackled when in a rush….It’s probably why I started drinking black coffee first thing!

    Will be linking up soon!

  6. It looks like the theme for the Mommy Reality Challenge will be a good one! I have been MIA for quite some time but I’m going to try to get back into the swing of things on my blog again, so I look forward to joining you guys for the linkup again! I’ve missed all of the fun for a while now!
