I believe every girl is a Princess, and I believe in the power of Princesses. As Princesses, they come in all sizes and with abilities and skills that are as unique and special as they are.
All three of my daughters have been enamored with the whole world of Princesses. As their mother I worried about the whole happily ever after and perfection of the Princess world, so I wrote a little book. If you click on this link you will be supporting me, the author. Thank you!
Anyways, if you have daughters like mine then you have excitedly been watching all of the previews for the new live action Beauty and the Beast movie which comes out in March. I have been told this is an opening week sort of movie for our family.
In preparation for this movie, my girls and I sat down and re watched the animated version a few weeks ago. This was the first time for the 3 year old. She is now officially hooked. So today I wanted to share a super easy, pain free crafting activity inspired by Beauty and the Beast. I am sure your own little Princess will love it!
My 3 year old is way into felt activity sets these days. We have made snow men, pizzas, and an ice cream shop. I will try and get to sharing those here soon! The beauty (get it), of this rose activity set is the fact that I have already made the printable for you. Voila! Simply download it here.
As far as the felt, you could almost use scraps, because you don’t need very large pieces. I had used so many of mine up with our previous felt sets that I picked all of mine up at the local craft store for about a dollar.
Next print up a copy of the printable. I used my home computer printer as it didn’t really matter if the colors were bold and bright. I just needed a pattern.
Now go ahead and cut out each shape grouping on your pattern paper. It doesn’t have to be perfect, you can cut closer to the edges once you attach it to your felt. Like this.
My daughter wanted to have the outline drawn on the glass case, so my husband Jen’s Guy grabbed a permanent marker and free handed. You don’t have to do that though. Oh, and yes I get the visual connotations of what this case may look like sans the rose. Let’s move on shall we…
Then cut all of the pieces out from the felt using your pattern and put your magic rose together!
If you don’t have any felt on hand, you could also just nab my printable and use it as a fun paper craft.
The “beauty” of this craft is it could be used for pretty much any activity! How about putting this together for your next Princess’s birthday party, or girl scout meeting? Versatile and easy!
I hope you enjoyed this Beauty and the Beast inspired craft, and if you did like it, feel free to Tweet, Pin or share it! Doing that is the best compliment ever!
Go ahead and share this post, you know you want to!
