This football season has officially brought the controversy. At least to our family. The high school that my newly minted freshman daughter attends is bitter rivals with my Alma Mater, where her cousin currently attends. To add to the drama, my nephew coaches at yet another school on the schedule.  I guess the good news is that there is always a team we can cheer for!

In a very efficient example of one stop shopping, I grabbed all of my ingredients for this dinner and the beverages at my local Walmart. Talk about a winning plan before the game has even started, right?

  1. Okay I added some re-fried beans with the dinner and it’s even better. What a great meal with not a lot of work. Yummy.

I’ll await the bravado with the two teams. All in good fun though.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

I concur. Chicken and crockpots truly are a gift to the world. I hope you get a chance to try this out yourself soon. If you didn’t live halfway across the country I would invite you over for dinner and serve this!

  2. I love crockpot dinners, and that chicken looks super delicious. I would love to toss it on top of some tortilla chips with melted cheese ?

  3. So easy! I’m glad I read this post, as it did remind me I need to throw the chicken in the slow cooker for tonight’s dinner as well! We’re having pollo guisado (or my non-spanish version of it anyway)! I will definitely need to make some chicken and tortillas one day, as I usually opt for the typical ground beef and/or chorizo. Thanks for that! :)

  4. Hi Jen, I have no idea about football, but you do make the whole thing sound like fun! This five minute chicken dinner sounds perfect and is something I will definitely be trying!…. Shhh though. I wouldn’t want the family thinking I hadn’t slaved away!

  5. I know this is silly but I never realized I could cook chicken in the crock pot. It must be really moist, which my husband and son would LOVE. How easy is using just salsa. I will use guac instead of sour cream and I bet it still tastes awesome.
